Photo of the Day - Day 114

Today was a hustle and bustle day getting everything done before I leave for TO tomorrow.  Tonight I went to visit my Mom. Poor thing, she had a gall bladder attack through the night, I had my first one three years ago and they are not fun.  She wasn't feeling well at all today as they had to give her morphine for the pain and she felt terrible. She was looking through the list of what you have to give up for gall bladder attacks (meat, dairy, eggs, creams, sauces etc) and all she liked on the list that she could eat was grapes. It sure is tough to give up all the food on the list but completely worth it to be pain free.

I spent some time with baby nephew Ryder as he was at his Nanie and Poppie's house for the weekend.  We played trucks, read books, colored, posted glow in the dark stickers and played with a little felt board that have pieces that make a little picnic scene. We had a good time, I need to see him more often...he is growing up so fast.

Here is a little picture of him with his felt board that I got him:
This is what it looked like when it came out of the package....

This is what it looked like after we put it together - it was so cute I said to Ryder okay let's rip it to pieces and put it back together. He said "Jodi not rip it to pieces.. take it apart"...lol smart little 4 year old :)

What a great Divadates - thanks Shan for hosting!  Tonight was a unique theme and a Spiritual Tarot card reader came and gave us each a 20 minute reading. I wasn't going to do it as I just saw the movie with Matt Damon last night where he was a spiritual medium and it freaked me out...I didn't want to receive any bad or worrisome news from this card reader...but after awhile I decided to go for it.
It turns out my card reading was bang on and it was like she knew me but yet tonight was the first time I met her.  It was a really great experience and I felt relieved after the process and learned a lot about myself and what the future may hold based on my choices.

Anyways it was a wonderful divadates, here are a few pics:

My reading with the spiritual tarot cards

Hanging out having a wonderful divadate :)

Congrats to Monica who won the diva dough - looking forward to next month! :)

Photo of the Day - Day 112

Today I looked out my window at work and what did I see but the biggest Boston fan ever @judes91122  (I am serious you should see her tweets when she watches the game) had a Boston Playoffs flag outside her window. I am sure she was in her glory all day today from the big win last night!! :) Congrats Judes!

It was administrative assistant's day today - my co-worker received these beautiful tulips. There were flower deliveries all over the building.  It was a really great day with lots of happy people :)

Photo of the Day - Day 110

Today I finally bit the bullet and went to the night clinic - my ears have been popping since my flight home from Florida last weekend and I am heading to TO on Sunday so I didn't want to have any problems. I fly often but have never had this happen before...not fun!
Since my Doctor is super busy and I usually need to book 6 weeks in advance for an appointment, I decided to go the the Friendly Pharmacy night clinic.  What a neat experience compared to some clinics that don't even have windows...first off they have a gorgeous view of the harbour - it was a bit rainy but the view is still beautiful.
Also they have free wi-fi, Timothy's coffee for sale,  beautiful murals on the wall, and a very open concept so you don't have to sit in amongst all the sick people you can browse the pharmacy or wait outside and enjoy the view.

                             The Hillsborough Bridge

I noticed a sign for the first ever no-touch bathroom that was specifically developed for Friendly Pharmacy. I would never use a public washroom at a clinic as I would be afraid to catch the flu but I had to check this out as I was curious to see this advanced washroom.
Well to my surprise you really didn't have to touch anything...everything was automatic...even a really funny gadget called the "Sound Princess that covers restroom blushes". I thought it was neat so I took a picture.  I didn't press the button but it is supposed to sound like a waterfall...lol!

                                              The Sound princess

                                  Hands free dryer....

Anyways to make a long story short, there is nothing wrong with my ears (which is good news but a very long wait to find out there was nothing wrong) but the doctor did say to stop listening to ear buds on my ipod until the popping goes away and to stop using earplugs for a bit as well (I wear earplugs for a couple hours a day at work when I really need to focus - to block out all the background noise....it is a weird habit I picked up at University while studying...it really does help). So although it won't hurt my ears it will help until they feel normal again...hopefully the flight is not too brutal and my ears are back to normal by Sunday...

Photo of the Day - Day 109

Last day of the 4 day weekend! Got lots done today both at work and other errands etc.  It was a beautiful warm day, Deuce loved his evening walk.
Tonight we went to the final hour of advance polls since I will be away May 2nd.   I haven't been there with a line-up before so I never really noticed the various roles and steps to the voting process.  There were 6 people, all with different roles to play. It definitely ensures voter privacy, I guess that is why they haven't went with online voting yet...
There was an advance polling station about 2 minutes away but we had to drive to a different polling station that was 15 minutes away...not sure how that works, something with what side of the street you are on.  Oh well, it was a nice drive and I found my photo of the day along the way.

Here are a couple of neat pics of a newly renovated mill (that really works) and a covered bridge.  It really looked nice and they did a great job restoring it.

Happy Easter!! I was very good today and didn't get into the chocolate...just my chocolate protein powder.
I spent most of the afternoon at work getting ready for the workshop presentations and gearing up for our FYN face-to-face meetings.
Tonight I was about to take Deuce for a walk but Kenny (Deuce's incredible puppy sitter) said he would like to take him tonight  - the weather was great; 14 degrees.  So instead to burn off some extra energy I decided to do a good old workout video downstairs.

It really is a great little video - Jackie Warner is the one that owns Sky sports (the reality TV show).

Photo of the Day - Day 107

Great day today, Mom and Pop made it home safely from Florida and they even stopped by for a visit before they went home. Long few days for them on the road from Florida.
Tonight I made some immune boosting muesli - never tried this recipe before but wanted something sweet (must be all the Easter bunny hype that is making me crave sweets).
I used the recipe I found in Oxygen magazine but used soy yogurt instead of greek and used honey instead of syrup. I also added bee pollen, chia seeds and chocolate protein powder. Delicious!

                                   The recipe...

The ingredients + a few extras

Voila....sure doesn't look like the picture in the magazine but the chocolate protein made it brown and the defrosted berries made it a bit purple....oh well, it sure was good, just the little treat I needed.

Photo of the Day - Day 106

Great day today: slept in, had my coffee and oatmeal, watched some Holmes on Homes, walked Deuce, did some work stuff and overall just relaxed.  I love long weekends!

No more snow!!  It was windy today but sunny and all the snow has disappeared.

Can't wait until it is warm enough to use the outdoor fireplace...

Sun going down for the night - in a few weeks these trees will be covered with leaves and I won't be able to see the sun setting through the trees.

What a week, I am exhausted...I am glad it is a long weekend  but I have a lot to get done before the FYN face-to-face meeting and the Forum...11 days to go!

Today was Jerry's birthday - Mom and Pops want to get together this weekend for supper as they are on there way home from Florida and missed Jerry's birthday.  However a birthday is no fun without a cake...

                                                      Happy Birthday Jerry!

Photo of the Day - Day 104

Today was a productive day, got lots accomplished. The phone rang twice before I left work tonight so I left quite a bit later than I had anticipated. I was planning to attend the Chamber of Commerce Easter egg mixer, but by the time I got out of work the roads were slippery and there was lots of snow and ice pellets coming down.  I can honestly say when I left Florida last week I didn't think I would see snow again until next year. I seemed to have forgotten that when I was growing up there were two snow storms on my birthday (and my party was almost cancelled - grade 1 and 5 or 6..can't remember); and my birthday is in May so we could still have snow for quite awhile yet....

So no pics from the Easter egg mixer but here are a few weather shots:
On my way home...I think I made the right decision to go right home. Jaclyn said on her facebook that there was a car upside down on her street from the awful weather.

The Farmer's market getting covered in snow ...I love that place!!

The poor tulips, they are going to be covered in snow by morning...not sure if I should have covered them with a blanket like people do when there is frost...hope they survive.

Photo of the Day - Day 103

What a day, I finally sat down and heading to bed soon.  I stayed at work until close to 8pm tonight then took Deuce for a walk.  On my way home from work it was starting to get dark and I hadn't taken my photo of the day; so I drove by Victoria park and got a few scenic pics. Hope you enjoy!

I love how the lamp posts glow even though it is not quite dark out

Looks like Spring - who knew we would be expecting 10cm of snow tomorrow....

I love how the water reflects orange...

Cute little bird made the pic in the bottom left corner....

Tide was out but still managed to be a scenic shot

Photo of the Day - Day 102

Back to work today, it was sunny and mild outside so it wasn't that bad of an adjustment except wearing a winter coat.  Deuce was very excited when I got home last night, as soon as I opened my suitcase he started looking for bags. He knows I always bring him home a toy from Florida.  He always knows what is a toy and what is not - never tries to chew shoes or anything except dog toy.  Such a smart little boy.  Tonight he was still playing with his new toy so I decided to get a few pics of him:

It is funny he has so many toys but just like a kid, loves the newest one best.

Photo of the Day - Day 101

Great day of IPAC board meetings and lots was accomplished this weekend. Had a couple of hours before my flight so I decided to venture out into the wind to do a bit of exploring.
Here are a few pics on my little stroll around big TO:

This little guy is a CHUG (Chihuahua and Pug mix) - such a cutie. His owner had relatives from PEI.
Here is the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) - it has beautiful Crystal architecture

They had a water exhibit, unfortunately I did not have enough time to go through just browsed around

                                  Very neat statue

The CN tower from a distance....

The cab driver took me on a tour of a ritzy part of TO (no charge) - 8million+ mansions

That's it for today, just waiting to board my flight which won't be back to PEI until midnight.   Back to work tomorrow after a wonderful couple of weeks.

Photo of the Day - Day 100

Wow, I can hardly believe it is day 100!! Where did the time go, hard to believe I am almost a third of the way through this 365 challenge.  Today was day 2 of IPAC board meetings and I was talking to @damyot about hitting the 100th photo, and that I would need to have something unique/special for this milestone.  She said we would have to arrange a good pic for this 100th photo of the day.  Then a few minutes later the fire alarm went off and they declared it an emergency and we had to evacuate the building.....now that is definitely something "exciting" for my photo of the day, not very often that kind of thing happens...luckily we were able to return to our meetings within about 30 minutes.
Here are the pics for day 100:

Firefighters waiting to determine if the situation was under control

Lots of official diagnosing the problems to determine whether or not everyone
could be let back into the building
                             Fire truck #1

Fire truck #2 & #3 - luckily we were able to stand outside in a covered area - it was raining and chilly out
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then tonight after the board meetings we want back to the restaurant Springroll (the food was so good the night before) and had a really fun evening!
