Photo of the Day - Day 8

TGIF...I heard that a lot today...I think this week went long for most due to the stormy weather etc..
For me this week went way too fast! Getting back to work on Tuesday and trying to catch up after being off three weeks was challenging and there was not enough hours in the day so I stayed late tonight when it was quiet to do some extra stuff.

I am heading to Ottawa on the 23-29th so I only have one more week to get all my work completed and my volunteer work done too before being away another week. Since I am involved in a lot of Public Service Volunteer work I am used to putting in extra time so that I can do my day job well and also do my PS activities well too. It can be a balancing act but I consider my Federal Youth Network, IPAC committees my hobbies so I am happy to put in my free time so that I am able to juggle it all. Comes with the commitment of being involved and I am very happy to be able to do all that I do. :)

So tonight I stayed at work until about 8pm, got lots done.  I realized at 8pm that I hadn't taken a pic today... I was kicking myself this morning as right outside my window I saw an act of kindness that would have been a perfect photo of the day.  Was so caught up in the moment that I forgot about taking a pic until it was all over.
In PEI in order to clear snow they push all the extra snow from the sides of the road in to the middle of the road (in a line separating the two sides - like a thicker median) so that it is easier to clean up. Anyway this guy got his van caught on the large snow median and couldn't get out. He was holding up traffic until 6 people from my office went out and helped shovel and push the guy back on the road.. It was really great to see people jump right in to help when it is needed.

So instead my photo of the day is taken right around where the car got stuck on the road looking up at my office building.  My office is on the 4th floor by the windows (you can see the general area on the left where the lights are still on as they are motion activated and I just left the building a few minutes before).  Looks like there are a few others working on the 2nd floor too - glad I am not the only one who works on Friday night - voluntarily :)

Photo taken on Fitzroy street on my way to the parkade - this building is super enviro friendly and has won awards...check it out on itsmyday.gc.ca  Jean Canfield Building (GOC)

So I thought I would end my day by going to my favourite spot for thai. The lady that owns the place (Sai) is so wonderful, I just love her!  Although this place doesn't look like much on the outside has amazing thai food.

This is my favourite! Pad thai tofu (no egg) - vegan friendly
I never thought I would ever take pictures of food for this "photo of the day" blog
but was inspired by acadian_jl nachos and onion rings pics on his photo of the day blogs :-)

PS. Sorry for writing a book...I know this is supposed to be "photo of the day"
not  "novel of the day" :)

Enjoy your evening!

  1. Hi Jodi,

I don't mind reading the longer captions, I think it adds character to the whole projects/concepts, etc. You're the one who decides how you want to manage your 365 :) It's going really well! :)
