What a day....up since 5:45am and flew from Tampa to Newark, then Newark to Halifax...then drove from Halifax to PEI... I miss Florida already (and my parents) but it is nice to be home to my dog Deuce and to get back into my routine.
The photo(s) of the day are:
|
An aerial view of Newark (was hoping to see the statue of liberty or empire state building but missed it...) |
Aerial view of the Newark trains (I thought this pic was neat as we don't have trains in PEI)
|
When we landed we saw about 6 planes taking off...caught this one as it was heading up in the air...what a busy airport!!
|
Our flight to Newark went by so fast...we sat next to this wonderful woman who was a nun and you could tell she really loved life. She talked with us the whole flight and shared her home-made muffins with us. The only thing that shocked me was there was a tiny spider on the tv screen (back of chair) and I mentioned to her that the little spider was really travelling a long way from home...and she took her tissue out and squished the little fella. I just about died...as I would never kill a bug (I am an animal lover - all kinds)...so I was surprised a Nun would since it is "a creature of God". She sure was a lovely woman though and I hope to see her next time I am in Tampa as she gave us her address to keep in touch.
The last photo of the day is of the Confederation Bridge...we were so grateful to see this sign after a long day of travelling (all the flights plus the 3.5 hour drive home)
The sign at the beginning of the Confederation Bridge (on the NB side)
Well back to work tomorrow...and I lost an hour due to the time difference so I better get to bed.
Good night!
